Everyone, especially our children, should be heard, seen, and loved for who they are...not for who they "should" be.
Awareness Critters is a line of illustrations meant to share awareness about wonderful individuals and children that are often overlooked by society and the media. These individuals are so very special, and not just because of their special need(s), but because of the way they light up their families lives, their special talents, how much they love their siblings, that they love exploring, that they bring joy to the world, and so many other things.
Here's the low down: Each Critter is shown to have a special need(s), they are matched up with a foundation or charity that helps children with similar needs. Sometimes, that charity or foundation has been chosen by the child or family that inspired the Critter and sometimes it is chosen by myself. 10% of all the profits from the sale of each Critter will go toward their foundation. The rest of the profits goes toward helping my family and the special medical needs and expenses of my own Rare children- Little Cub and Baby Bear. (If you want to read more about our family's journey you can visit my blog Here).
At the end of each month I will post on the blog portion of this site, how much was raised for each charity during the month. If the amount raised was less than $5 (the minamum amount most charities will accept), say $1.25, that amount will be rolled into the next month, until the minuamum $5 amount is raised.
